Neil Van Dyke

Neil Van Dyke

Neil is one of the team's founders, and has been team leader for more than 15 years. He is an active outdoorsman and also serves as Stowe's Emergency Management Director. He is currently Vice President of the Mountain Rescue Association.  In his spare time he operates a resort in Stowe and was named Vermont's "Innkeeper of the Year" for the year 2000.

 

 

 

Edward Stewart

Ed Stewart

Ed is a founding member of the team and very active in SAR. He is a search team leader for the FEMA USAR Team from Beverly, Mass. Ed works full time for the Stowe Police Dept. as a Detective Sergeant.

 

 

Doug VelikoDoug Veliko
Doug is the team's most accomplished technical rock and ice climber, and is currently our training officer. He frequently climbs in New Hampshire, Colorado, Nevada, California and is pictured below in the Bugaboos.  He works at IBM in Essex Jct.

 

 

Dennis Reinhardt

Dennis Reinhardt

Nobody know the backcountry in Lamoille County better than Dennis. He served for many years as our local game warden, spending much of his working and non-working hours in the woods around Stowe. Dennis was named the Vermont Game Warden of The Year for 2000 by the Vermont Dept. of Fish & Wildlife and is pictured below receiving his award from former Gov. Howard Dean. In 2009 Dennis was promoted to Major, the 2nd highest ranking law enforcement position for the Vermont Game Wardens.

 

 

 

Derek Libby

Derek Libby

Derek works as a full time firefighter in Burlington, and fills in his free time as an electrician. He is also an active memeber of Stowe's Emergency Management organization.

 

 

Graham GovoniGraham Govoni
Graham is an avid ice climber and serves as the team's pro bono legal counsel. He also volunteers with Morristown Rescue and was awarded the Vermont League of Cities and Towns Citizenship Award for the year 2000.

 

 

Tim Burdick

Tim Burdick

Tim is the team's Medical Officer. He works as a family physician in Montpelier and rides with Waterbury Ambulance. He has been involved with wilderness medicine
for more than 20 years, and he was recently honored as a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine. Tim is an experienced hiker and paddler, having guided in Alaska,
Utah, and West Virginia.

 

 

Chris Anderson

Chris Anderson

Chris enjoys many types of outdoor activities year round. He volunteers as a ski patroller at Smuggler's Notch and is an EMT-B with Morristown Rescue. He works for an environmental lab in Colchester.

 

 

Marc Couper

Marc Couper

"Coup" is an avid skier, climber, biker and kayaker.  He works for NEMS as an EMT I-03 on the hospital transport team as well as volunteering for Stowe Rescue.  He is currently a BS Nursing student at Norwich University .

 

Greg Speer

Greg Speer

Greg spends much of his time hiking, climbing and skiing the backcountry around Stowe. He has a business making rustic furniture, and works winters as a cross counrty instructor, groomer, and a backcounrty ski

and snowshoe guide.

 

Tracey Eykelhoff

Tracey Eykelhoff

Trace is theteam's expert skier and knows the backcountry ski trails around Stowe as well as anybody. He also enjoys the vertical rock and ice environment. "Spike" has worked for many years as a ski patroller at Mt. Mansfield.
