A 67 year old woman injured her ankle and badly scraped her leg while hiking on the Pinnacle Trail. Stowe Mountain Rescue responded with assistance from Stowe Rescue Squad and Stowe Police. She was about half way up the trail to the summit. A hasty team of Mountain Rescue personel found the patient and treated her, immobilizing the ankle injury and bandaging the abrasion. She could not bear weight on the injured leg.
The patient was packaged in the litter with a vacuum mattress and sleeping bag. She was evacuated by litter and wheel without incident to the main Pinnacle parking lot and transported to Copley Hospital by SRS.
