A 9 year old hiking with his family on the Hazelton Trail on Mount Mansfield slipped and badly lacerated his knee. He was unable to bear weight on the injured leg and bleeding heavily, but his family applied first aid to stop the bleeding. Rescuers accessed him via ATV. He was treated for his injuries, loaded into a litter and carried a short distance to the ATV. He was transported to the Gondola base by ATV without incident and then transported to Copley Hospital by Stowe Rescue.
