Two subjects on Elephant's Head Trail were traveling without snowshoes and were badly post holing. They called for assistance due to fatigue and abdominal cramping. They were also concerned they would not reach the road before darkness.
Team members instructed the subjects to stop, eat food and drink fluids, then continue down. Two rescuers with extra snowshoes were sent up the trail to assist the subjects. They meet the hikers not far from route 108 and assisted the subjects.
