A 55 year old male skier was dropped off at Elmore State Park at 1:30pm with the intent of skiing back to his residence near Elmore Mountain Road along a relatively remote section of the Catamount Trail.  When he failed to return home by 7:30, he was reported overdue by his family. A search was immediately initiated. Teams from Stowe Mtn. Rescue were tasked with sending teams in from both ends of the trail - one heading north from Elmore Mtn. Road and the other south from Elmore State Park. Additional teams from Vermont State Police and Elmore and Wolcott Fire Departments were also tasked with areas on their arrival.  The Stowe team leaving from the Park quickly picked up a track and were able to follow it to the subject. He had lost the trail, fallen in a brook, and was no longer moving.  He had a fire going and was in good enough condition to ski back out with assistance.
