Lamoille Disptach received 911 call from a subject at Bear Pond who was unable to find his way down. Van Dyke was notified at his home and spoke with the subject. After unsuccessfully trying to direct him to Taft Lodge, the decision was made for him to spend the night where he was.

A Johnson State College student went swimming in the rain swollen Lamoille River and got stranded on a large rock in the middle of the river. Johnson Fire Dept. water rescue responded and requested assistance from Stowe Mtn. Rescue. The subject was successfully rescued by the Johnson crew using a Zodiac boat to get into the eddy downstream of the rock.

Stowe Emergency Management requested the team to stand by at the station during heavy flooding activity. Several areas of town were isolated due to high water. No missions were needed and the team was released as water levels receded to allow access to previously isolated neighborhoods.
April 15-16, 2011
Assisted Colchester Technical Rescue w/a search for a missing 26 year old male who was presumed drowned in a boating accident in Milton VT on Tuesday April 12. The subject was boating on Lake Arrowhead, when their motor lost power. The boat was pulled toward the dam and they were without paddles. One subject was pulled from the boat when it was wedged against the dam by Milton PD, but the second subject went thru the dam. Boat based search operation with no success.

A 55 year old female who was snowshoeing on Mt. Mansfield called 911 reporting shortness of breath. She was with several other hikers at Taft Lodge. SMR members responded from the Cliff House at the top of the Gondola and also up the Long Trail. The subject was determined to be stable and was accompanied down the Long Trail to the Chin Clip ski trail where Mt. Mansfield Ski Patrol gave her a sled ride down the mountain.
